Registering a vehicle that does not have an engine, a caravan, trailer, or any other engineless vehicle, can be challenging. Please feel free to contact us at Renew My Car Registration to handle the entire registration process for you. The detailed steps are explained below.
Registration in Dubai
- Testing
Any vehicle without an engine (caravan, trailer, boat trailer, etc.) must first undergo a RTA test. Take the vehicle to an authorized RTA testing center. Once it passes the test, you can proceed to the next step. - Insurance
After passing the test, obtain insurance for the caravan or trailer. Remember that these vehicles can only be registered for a three-year period, so your insurance policy must also be valid for three years. - Registration
With a passed test report and valid three-year insurance, visit an RTA registration counter to complete the registration process. You will receive a registration card valid for three years.
Registration in Abu Dhabi
The process in Abu Dhabi is almost similar to Dubai’s, with one key difference:
- Insurance Exemption: Since engineless vehicles do not move on their own and must be towed by another vehicle, you can apply for an exemption on insurance.
As in Dubai, the registration card for these vehicles is valid for three years.
