You have completed the car testing and obtained insurance, but when you attempt to renew your vehicle registration, you see a message that there is a warrant on your car, stopping the renewal.
What Is a Warrant?
A warrant most likely refers to a legal case on the vehicle. If you fail to pay two or more installments of your car mortgage, the bank informs the court to issue a warrant. This warrant blocks your ability to renew the car’s registration until it is settled.
How to Settle the Warrant
- Contact Your Bank: Reach out to your lender to confirm the outstanding installments.
- Pay Missing Installments: Settle all overdue payments on your mortgage.
- Bank Notifies Court: Once your payments are up to date, the bank will inform the court to remove the warrant.
After the warrant is lifted, you can proceed with the vehicle registration renewal as usual.
What to do when I don't have any missing installment on my but still it's blocked?
There can be many other reasons. If you have any other legal case, a bounced cheque case, or unpaid credit card debt, or any civil case related to money, then your vehicle registration renewal can be blocked by the authorities. Clear all your criminal, civil, or legal cases in order to renew vehicle registration if it is blocked due to that.
